Each year, approximately 36,000 people die in motor vehicle-related accidents in the U.S. Speeding, impaired driving, lane departures, and distracted driving are among the top causes, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal and a national legal analyst, emphasized the importance of conducting a prompt independent investigation in such cases. “It is imperative to come to a determination of the exact cause of these types of accidents,” Bond said. “An attorney has the resources to review applicable insurance coverage, hire expert witnesses, run background checks, and locate witnesses. We carefully guide the family of the victim through the process.”

Bond added, “As attorneys, our job is to provide both legal information and advice to the families of those who have been killed in an accident. We can help protect your rights and prevent your statements to the police and insurance companies from being used against you.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the outcome of the investigation, the family of Rachel Sabori may be entitled to pursue a wrongful death claim. Such claims can seek compensation for medical and funeral expenses, loss of companionship, emotional trauma, and pain and suffering.

“An incident is considered a wrongful death when either a person or entity commits a wrongful or negligent act resulting in a person's death,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal and a national legal analyst. “When vehicle accident fatalities result from unsafe driving, aggressive or distracted driving, speeding, or driving under the influence, family members are usually left with the option to pursue a civil action against the responsible motorist.”

Bond also stressed the importance of conducting an independent investigation to uncover all contributing factors and preserve evidence. “Families deserve answers, and legal guidance can help ensure their rights are fully protected during this painful time.”
