Police Lights car crashCa Hoang Le, 84, was tragically killed in a traffic collision involving two vehicles and a scooter late Saturday morning in Montebello, according to a news release.

The victim, identified as Ca Hoang Le, was involved in the crash around 11:25 a.m. in the 300 block of North Garfield Avenue, just north of Whittier Boulevard. One of the vehicles reportedly overturned during the incident. Le was transported to a hospital, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Like pedestrians, scooter riders are especially vulnerable in traffic collisions and face a higher risk of serious injury or death when struck by larger vehicles. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, an estimated 164 e-scooter and 193 e-bike deaths occurred between 2017 and 2023.

As the investigation into the crash that claimed the life of Ca Hoang Le continues, Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal and a national legal analyst for The Legal Advocate, emphasized the importance of an independent legal investigation.

“In addition to the diligent work of law enforcement, an attorney can re-interview key witnesses, review surveillance footage from the scene, and obtain phone and texting records of the at-fault party,” said Bond.

These steps, she noted, are often essential to uncovering critical facts, determining liability, and helping families of victims pursue justice and rightful compensation.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the investigation, the family members of Ca Hoang Le may be entitled to pursue a wrongful death claim. Such claims allow families to seek compensation for loss of companionship, emotional distress, pain and suffering, and other damages following a tragic and preventable accident like this one.

“The stress and sorrow can be extremely overwhelming after losing a loved one in an accident,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal.

“We understand just what families are forced to go through, and having their rights protected is vital. A wrongful death lawyer will stay updated on the official investigation and help ensure that their legal rights and best interests are safeguarded.”
