Authorities Say Victim’s Semi Was Rear-Ended on Pier T Avenue
LONG BEACH, CA, (June 20, 2025) -
A man was tragically killed early Wednesday morning in Long Beach after being struck by a tractor-trailer, authorities said. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner identified the victim as 47-year-old Lihuan Wu.

The fatal crash occurred around 6:40 a.m. on Pier T Avenue.
According to preliminary reports, Wu had parked his semi-truck along the south curb of Pier T Avenue for unknown reasons and exited the vehicle, standing near the engine compartment. At that moment, another semi-truck rear-ended Wu’s parked vehicle, causing it to lurch forward and strike him. Wu was knocked to the ground and fatally run over by his own truck, which had been pushed by the impact.
Wu was pronounced dead at the scene.
