Tuesday Crash Claims Life of 42-Year-Old Man, Authorities Report

SAN BERNARDINO, CA, (July 08, 2025) - A 42-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle early Tuesday at the intersection of Western Avenue and Kendall Drive in San Bernardino, authorities confirmed.

Police Lights car crashChristopher Cousin, 42, tragically lost his life after being struck by a vehicle in San Bernardino early Tuesday morning, according to authorities.

The incident occurred shortly before 3 a.m. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, the victim, identified as Christopher Cousin, died at the scene. The driver involved has not yet been identified.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

In addition to driver distraction, impairment, and poor road design, excessive vehicle speed remains a major contributor to pedestrian fatalities. Experts emphasize that higher speeds significantly raise the risk of serious injury or death to pedestrians. According to the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA), pedestrian deaths have surged nearly seven times faster than the U.S. population over the past decade.

“In most instances, pedestrians possess the right of way when crossing an intersection or a street, regardless of whether they are in a marked crosswalk,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal and a veteran pedestrian accident attorney.

Bond stressed the importance of an independent investigation in cases like this, ensuring the victim’s rights are protected. “Having the proper resources is extremely important in order to investigate a pedestrian accident case and prove negligence,” she added.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the results of the investigation, the family of Christopher Cousin may be entitled to a wrongful death claim for the loss of love and companionship.

“The stress and sorrow can be extremely overwhelming after losing a loved one in an accident,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal.

“We understand just what families are forced to go through, and having their rights protected is vital. A wrongful death lawyer will stay updated on the official investigation and help protect their legal rights and best interests.”
