Runner Struck by Vehicle While En Route to In-Laws’ Faria Beach Home

VENTURA, CA, (June 15, 2025) - A 26-year-old woman, Bianca Trester, was severely injured Sunday morning after being struck by a vehicle while jogging along the Pacific Coast Highway in Ventura. The incident occurred around 10 a.m. in the 3700 block of the highway, as Trester was en route to her in-laws’ home in Faria Beach.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), officers found Trester on the shoulder of the road with no vehicle in sight. Surveillance footage later identified a silver 2015 Honda Civic fleeing the scene. The suspect, a 48-year-old woman from Bakersfield, was arrested and has since been released on bail.

Trester’s family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover her medical expenses. Authorities continue to investigate the case.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

California law makes it a crime to flee the scene of a crash, yet hit-and-run incidents remain alarmingly frequent. According to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, an estimated 682,000 hit-and-run crashes have occurred annually in the U.S. since 2006, often leaving victims without immediate aid.

Candice Bond, a seasoned attorney and Managing Partner at Bond Legal, emphasized the importance of swift legal action in such cases.

“In cases like Bianca Trester’s, it is imperative to have an independent investigation conducted by an experienced attorney to protect the victim’s rights,” Bond said. “Having the proper resources is extremely important to investigate a hit-and-run case and prove negligence.”

Bond added that legal intervention not only aids in securing justice and compensation for victims but also ensures that reckless drivers are held accountable for their actions.

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Pending the results of the investigation, Bianca Trester may have grounds to pursue a personal injury lawsuit, according to legal experts. In the wake of a serious injury, victims often face overwhelming stress that affects every facet of life—family, employment, finances, and overall well-being.

“It is vital for victims to hire an attorney when filing a personal injury claim, which allows them to negotiate with an insurance company on behalf of a client,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal. “Insurance companies often pressure victims to settle quickly for less than their case is worth. A skilled attorney will fight to ensure their client receives fair treatment and just compensation.”
