Oakley Resident Killed in Crash on Highway 84, Officials Confirm
LIVERMORE, CA, (July 15, 2025) - A tragic head-on collision on Highway 84 near Livermore claimed the life of a young Oakley man Tuesday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The Alameda County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 21-year-old Ryan Joshua Aquino Amigable.
Ryan Joshua Aquino Amigable, a 21-year-old resident of Oakley, tragically lost his life Tuesday evening after a wrong-way driver collided head-on with his vehicle near Livermore, according to an official release.
Preliminary reports indicate that the crash occurred around 6:19 p.m. when the driver of a gray Lexus traveling westbound on State Highway 84 lost control for unknown reasons. The Lexus veered into the eastbound lanes and struck Amigable’s blue Honda head-on. Sadly, Amigable sustained fatal injuries in the impact.
In the wake of the tragedy, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support Amigable’s family with funeral arrangements.
The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash. No further details have been released at this time.
