CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Drivers must stop when signaled by police; failing to comply is a crime. Authorities will also review whether officers followed proper procedures during the pursuit.

In 2022, there were 577 deaths during police pursuits nationwide, per the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. That is the highest amount of fatalities than any other year on record, and a 40 percent increase since 2019.

Candice Bond, an experienced auto accident attorney, emphasized that it is crucial to hire an attorney to conduct an independent investigation into the cause of the crash to secure evidence and protect the rights of an injured victim.

“Time is of the essence in cases such as this, and a victim must ensure that evidence is reviewed efficiently,” said Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal and national analyst for The Legal Advocate. “Serving as an advocate, an attorney can help compassionately guide a client during this difficult time, while vigorously protecting their legal rights and best interests.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIMS

The family members of Robert Anderson may be entitled to a wrongful death claim for medical and funeral expenses, the loss of love and companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional trauma.

“An incident is considered a wrongful death when either a person or entity commits a wrongful or negligent act resulting in a person's death,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal. “When vehicle accident fatalities result from unsafe driving, aggressive or distracted driving, speeding, or driving under the influence, family members are usually left with the option to pursue a civil action against the responsible motorist.”
