Accident on State Highway 111 claims life of Yucaipa resident, authorities say
PALM SPRINGS, CA, (November 16, 2024) - A passenger was killed and a driver was seriously hurt after their vehicle crashed early Saturday morning in Palm Springs, officials said. The fatality victim has been identified as 32-year-old Raulito Alarcon.
Raulito Alarcon, a 32-year-old man from Yucaipa, was fatally injured following a one-vehicle crash along Highway 111 in Palm Springs early Saturday, according to authorities.
The incident happened on State Highway 111, about 1.2 miles north of Overture Drive, not far from Interstate 10.
Based on the California Highway Patrol's reports, Yucaipa resident Alarcon and another person were traveling north on Highway 111 around 2:53 a.m. when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle went into the center median and overturned multiple times, ultimately resting on its roof.
The driver, authorities said, was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center with major injuries.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor.
