A fatal crash occurred at Huntington and Chestnut avenues, officials report
FRESNO, CA, (June 28, 2025) - Fresno authorities report that one person died and two others were injured following a traffic collision Saturday morning in southeast Fresno.
Rany Oeur, 72, died Saturday morning after the vehicle she was riding in collided with another car in southeast Fresno, officials confirmed.
The Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased victim as 72-year-old Rany Oeur.
The crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Huntington and Chestnut avenues. Preliminary reports indicate that Oeur was a passenger in a white Lexus sedan when it collided with a black Chevrolet Camaro. Both vehicles sustained significant damage, and occupants of the Lexus were trapped inside.
Fresno firefighters extricated the trapped individuals, but unfortunately, Oeur succumbed to his injuries. The drivers of both vehicles were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED
Victims trapped in vehicles during crashes often face catastrophic injuries. In just the first half of 2023, over 2,000 people lost their lives on California roads, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
As the cause and liability of such crashes are investigated, Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal and experienced accident attorney, emphasizes the need for independent legal investigations.
“Beyond law enforcement efforts, an attorney can re-interview key witnesses, review surveillance footage, and obtain phone and texting records of the responsible party,” said Bond, a national analyst for The Legal Advocate.
WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM
Pending the investigation, the family of Rany Oeur may be entitled to a wrongful death claim. Family members can seek damages for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a catastrophic accident.
“We understand that losing a loved one is not only a deeply emotional loss but also an economic one,” said Candice Bond, of counsel with Bond Legal.
“If you have lost a loved one due to someone else’s negligence, contact a wrongful death attorney to get the guidance needed to obtain the justice you deserve.”
