Kristen Advanis Fatally Struck at Ocean Blvd and Ninth Place in Long Beach

LONG BEACH, CA, (June 21, 2025) -

A 56-year-old woman fatally struck by multiple vehicles in Long Beach Saturday night has been identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office as Kristen Advanis.

pedestrian hit killedKristen Advanis, 56, tragically died Saturday night after being struck by three vehicles in Long Beach, according to police.

The deadly incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. near the intersection of Ocean Boulevard and Ninth Place. Authorities said Advanis was in a marked crosswalk at Falcon Avenue when she was initially hit by a dark-colored sedan traveling eastbound on Ocean Boulevard. That driver fled the scene.

Moments later, a 2016 BMW X3, also traveling eastbound, struck Advanis a second time. The driver, a Tustin resident, remained at the scene.

Advanis was then hit a third time by another dark-colored sedan, which also fled.

Investigators believe speed and distracted driving were factors in the crash. The incident remains under investigation, and authorities are seeking information on the hit-and-run drivers.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Distracted driving continues to pose a deadly threat on U.S. roads. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), an estimated 12,400 people were killed in 2021 in crashes where distraction was a contributing factor.

“Distracted drivers often fail to notice stopped traffic or pedestrians in crosswalks until it’s too late,” said Candice Bond, a veteran pedestrian accident attorney and Managing Partner at Bond Legal.

“In most instances, pedestrians have the legal right of way when crossing at intersections or marked crosswalks,” Bond emphasized. “That’s why it’s crucial to conduct an independent investigation in cases like this—one that looks beyond the initial police findings to uncover key evidence and establish liability.”

Bond added that experienced attorneys have the tools to properly examine pedestrian accident cases, including access to expert witnesses, accident reconstructionists, and digital data that can help prove negligence.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the results of the investigation, the family of Kristen Advanis may be entitled to a wrongful death claim for the loss of love, companionship, and emotional support.

“The stress and sorrow after losing a loved one in a tragic accident can be overwhelming,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal.

“We understand the immense challenges families face in the aftermath of such loss. A wrongful death attorney can help ensure that their rights are protected, stay updated on the investigation, and work to hold the responsible parties accountable.”
