FATAL SCOOTER ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION
Candice Bond, an experienced motor scooter accident attorney, says accidents such as this one are often caused by negligent drivers.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, moped and scooter accidents resulted in an estimated 50,000 emergency department visits and at least 27 fatalities between 2017-2019. Sadly, according to the Safety Commission, moped and scooter injuries and deaths are on the rise.
Bond stressed that in cases such as this, it is imperative to have an independent investigation conducted in a timely manner to protect the family of a victim’s rights.
“Having the proper resources is extremely important when investigating a scooter accident case and demonstrating that there was negligence on the part of a motorist,” said Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal and a national analyst for The Legal Advocate. “Road conditions, signage visibility, and road lighting are all possible contributing factors that are considered and must be thoroughly examined.”
WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM
Pending results of the investigation, the family of Daniel Murphy could pursue a wrongful death claim. Family members of wrongful death victims may seek damages for loss of love and companionship, funeral costs, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic or catastrophic accident such as this one.
“The stress and sorrow can be extremely overwhelming after losing a loved one in an accident,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal. “We understand just what families must go through, and having their rights protected is vital. A wrongful death lawyer will stay updated on the official investigation and help ensure that their legal rights and best interests are protected.”
