Albuquerque Couple Among Those Injured in Clatsop County Crash, Officials Say
CLATSOP, OR, (June 26, 2025) - A devastating three-vehicle crash on Thursday afternoon along U.S. Highway 101 near milepost 27 claimed the lives of two juveniles and seriously injured four others, including Charles Paul LeBlanc, 57, and Jennifer Lyria LeBlanc, 52, both of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Charles Paul LeBlanc and Jennifer Lyria LeBlanc, both New Mexico residents, were seriously injured in a three-vehicle head-on collision Thursday afternoon in Clatsop County, Oregon.
According to Oregon State Police, the crash occurred when a southbound Toyota Tacoma veered into the northbound lane, colliding head-on with a Honda CRV. The Toyota then continued in the wrong lane and struck a Nissan Rogue—carrying the LeBlancs—head-on.
Tragically, two young girls in the Nissan, ages 15 and 12, died at the scene. Charles and Jennifer LeBlanc, who were also in the Nissan, were hospitalized with serious injuries. The drivers of both the Toyota and the Honda were also transported to the hospital in serious condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED
Head-on collisions are among the most dangerous types of motor vehicle accidents, often caused by factors such as driver impairment, distraction, speeding, or fatigue. Due to the force of impact, these crashes frequently result in catastrophic or fatal injuries.
In 2023, an estimated 2.44 million people were injured in traffic crashes across the United States, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
As authorities continue to investigate the cause and liability in the Clatsop County crash, Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal and a national analyst for The Legal Advocate, stressed the importance of conducting an independent legal investigation.
“In addition to the diligent work of law enforcement, an attorney can re-interview important witnesses, analyze any surveillance video from the scene of the crash, and obtain phone and texting records of the liable party,” said Bond.
PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM
Pending the results of the investigation, Charles and Jennifer LeBlanc may have the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit. Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal, emphasized that the stress and disruption following a serious injury can deeply impact a person’s life—affecting family, work, finances, and overall well-being.
“It is vital for victims to hire an attorney when filing a personal injury claim, as it allows them to negotiate with insurance companies on the client’s behalf,” Bond stated.
“Insurance companies often attempt to pressure victims into settling quickly for far less than they deserve. An experienced attorney will vigorously advocate for their client to ensure they are treated fairly and receive the compensation they need to recover,” she added.
