DWI CRASH INVESTIGATION

Alcohol use significantly impairs driving ability, as shown by this crash.

The NHTSA reports that nearly 30 people die each day from drunk-driving crashes in the U.S.—about one every 50 minutes. In 2023, 1,355 people were killed in alcohol-involved crashes in California, according to the state’s Office of Traffic Safety.

When a driver is under the influence, they can suffer from a lack of judgment, impaired vision, reduced coordination, and delayed reaction time.

Candice Bond, an experienced DUI accident attorney, was interviewed and shared her thoughts on incidents like this.

"Separate from criminal charges, a victim's family may be entitled to compensation through a civil lawsuit against the responsible party, said Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal.  "In addition to the diligent work of law enforcement, an attorney can re-interview important witnesses, analyze any surveillance video from the scene of the crash, and obtain phone and text records of the liable party. Serving as an advocate, an attorney can help compassionately guide a family during this difficult time, protecting their legal rights while ensuring that a drunk driver is held accountable for their reckless actions.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

The family of Leocadio Reyes may have grounds to pursue a wrongful death claim. Such a claim can provide compensation for loss of companionship, emotional distress, pain and suffering, and other damages following a tragic or catastrophic accident.

“We understand the deep grief families endure, and ensuring their rights are protected is essential,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal. “A wrongful death attorney will follow the investigation closely and work diligently to safeguard the family’s best interests. Loved ones deserve both justice and fair compensation for the profound loss they have suffered.”
