Passenger in Toyota that veered off Auberry Road

MEADOW LAKES, CA, (August 13, 2025) - A 22-year-old Clovis man lost his life Wednesday in a single-vehicle crash near Meadow Lakes in Fresno County.

A 22-year-old Clovis man was tragically killed in a single-vehicle accident Wednesday near Meadow Lakes in Fresno County.Ali Seyedin, a passenger in a Toyota, was killed when the vehicle veered off Auberry Road, traveled down an embankment, and struck a tree.

Authorities said Ali Seyedin was a passenger in a Toyota pickup truck driven by a 21-year-old that failed to navigate a curve on Auberry Road. The truck traveled roughly 200 feet down an embankment before colliding with a tree.

Seyedin was pronounced dead at the scene.

FATAL SINGLE-VEHICLE ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

The Fresno-area California Highway Patrol is investigating the tragedy.

Sadly, about 36,000 people die in motor vehicle accidents each year in this country. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, speeding was the primary cause of fatal crashes in 2018, followed by the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication; failure to stay in the proper lane; failure to yield the right of way; and distracted driving.

Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal, said in such cases that it’s important for a full independent investigation to be conducted by an experienced attorney. It allows victims and families of victims to negotiate with an insurance company on behalf of a client.

Bond, a national analyst for The Legal Advocate, stressed that no amount of money will compensate for the tragic loss of a loved one. Still, it's imperative that victims and families of victims are properly represented.

“Insurance companies often try to pressure victims and families of victims to settle for a quick payout for far less than the case is worth,” Bond added. “They are financially motivated to limit compensation and do not factor in the long-term consequences and suffering that a family will ultimately experience. Attorneys vigorously advocate for their clients to ensure that they are treated with respect and compensated fairly.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Based on the information released so far, the family of Ali Seyedin may be entitled to pursue a wrongful death claim, which can provide compensation for funeral expenses, loss of love and companionship, emotional distress, and pain and suffering.

“A wrongful death claim is a civil action brought by the estate or surviving relatives of the deceased to seek financial damages,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal. “It is separate from any criminal proceedings and follows its own legal process.”

Bond added that in cases like this, “The passenger’s family may also file a claim with the insurance company covering the vehicle they were in, if the driver is found liable. This type of claim does not affect the family’s own insurance policy since it is made against another party’s coverage.”
