Deadly pedestrian collision occurred at Imperial Highway off-ramp, officials report.
NORWALK, CA, (June 22, 2025) - A 24-year-old man, Carlos Flores, was tragically killed early Sunday morning in a pedestrian accident in Norwalk.
Carlos Flores, 24, was tragically struck and killed by a vehicle at a freeway off-ramp in Norwalk early Sunday morning, authorities said.
The fatal collision occurred around 1:25 a.m. at the Imperial Highway off-ramp, near the connector road from the southbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway to the westbound Glen Anderson (105) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Flores was struck by an unknown vehicle and sadly died at the scene from his injuries. No information about the driver has been released.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED
Distracted driving—often driven by electronic device use—and the popularity of larger vehicles have significantly contributed to a rise in pedestrian fatalities across the U.S. In 2023 alone, unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County recorded 118 roadway deaths, with pedestrians accounting for 29% of those fatalities, according to the LA County Department of Public Health.
“In most instances, pedestrians possess the right of way when crossing an intersection or a street, regardless of whether they are in a marked crosswalk,” said Candice Bond, a veteran pedestrian accident attorney and Managing Partner of Bond Legal.
Bond emphasized the importance of an independent legal investigation in cases like this, to help protect the rights of the victim and their family.
“Having the proper resources is extremely important in order to investigate a pedestrian accident case and prove negligence,” she added.
WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM
Pending the results of the investigation, the family of Carlos Flores may be entitled to a wrongful death claim for the loss of love and companionship.
“The stress and sorrow can be extremely overwhelming after losing a loved one in an accident,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal.
“We understand just what families are forced to go through, and having their rights protected is vital. A wrongful death lawyer will stay updated on the official investigation and help protect their legal rights and best interests.”
