Sept. 14 crash occurred on American Avenue west of Navalencia Avenue
REEDLEY, CA, (September 14, 2025) - One person was killed and two others were injured in a head-on crash Sunday morning near Reedley, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
A 62-year-old Manhattan Beach man and his passenger were hospitalized following a fatal head-on collision in Fresno County on Sunday morning.
Authorities confirmed the victim as 28-year-old Victor Reyes Jr., of Reedley.
CHP said Reyes was traveling westbound on American Avenue in a 2016 Acura TLX shortly before 8:30 a.m. when his vehicle entered the path of an eastbound 2022 Ram Thor camper van, leading to a violent collision. The Acura spun out and came to rest on the south shoulder, while the camper van remained in its lane.
Reyes suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The camper van’s driver, a 62-year-old man from Manhattan Beach, and a passenger were both transported to Community Regional Medical Center with moderate to major injuries.
An investigation into the wreck remains ongoing.
CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED
Every year, millions are injured in U.S. traffic crashes—many with life-altering consequences. Approximately 2.2 million were injured in motor vehicle accidents in 2023 across the country, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
While the cause and liability of the crash are being investigated, Candice Bond, an experienced accident attorney and Managing Partner of Bond Legal, said that it’s imperative to have an independent investigation conducted by a seasoned attorney.
“In addition to the diligent work of law enforcement, an attorney can re-interview important witnesses, analyze any surveillance video from the scene of the crash, and obtain phone and texting records of the liable party,” said Bond, a national analyst for The Legal Advocate.
“An accident reconstruction team is sometimes needed to help piece together what happened. All of these resources are necessary for helping clients receive monetary compensation for damages or a loss following a collision,” noted Bond.
PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM
Pending the investigation results, the victims injured in the crash may have the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit. Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal, noted that the stress and hardship following a serious injury can be overwhelming, disrupting all aspects of life — including family, work, finances, and overall quality of life.
“It is vital for victims to hire an attorney when filing a personal injury claim, which allows them to negotiate with the insurance company on behalf of the client,” Bond said.
“Insurance companies often pressure victims to settle for a quick payout for far less than the case is worth. An experienced attorney will vigorously advocate for their client to ensure they are treated fairly and compensated fully.”
