CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

A red light means stop — it’s one of the most basic rules of the road.

Yet, in 2022 alone, 1,149 people lost their lives and around 100,000 were injured in red-light running crashes, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). These incidents often stem from distractions, impatience, misjudging signal timing, speeding, and in some cases, intoxication or fatigue. Some drivers simply try to “beat the light,” with devastating results.

Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal and a national legal analyst, emphasized the importance of a thorough investigation in such cases to protect the rights of the victim’s family.

“It is imperative to come to a determination of the exact cause of these types of accidents,” Bond said. “An attorney has the resources to review applicable insurance coverage, hire expert witnesses, run background checks, and locate witnesses.”

Bond added that beyond the police report, a legal team can carefully examine all factors contributing to the crash.

“Serving as an advocate, an attorney can help guide victims and families of victims through what can be a complicated process.”

“We understand just what families are forced to go through, and having their rights protected is vital,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner with Bond Legal. “A wrongful death lawyer will stay updated on the official investigation and help ensure that their best interests are taken care of. Relatives of wrongful death victims are entitled to seek damages for the loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a tragic or catastrophic accident.”
