Bakersfield man killed in Sept. 20 two-vehicle crash at 34th and Q streets
BAKERSFIELD, CA, (September 20, 2025) - A Bakersfield man, George Allen Tiglio, 64, was fatally injured in a two-car crash on Saturday at the intersection of 34th and Q streets.
George Allen Tiglio, 64, was killed Saturday in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of 34th and Q streets in Bakersfield, authorities said.
Police reported the collision happened around 12:40 a.m., and Tiglio died the next day from his injuries.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED
Several factors are to blame for the surge in traffic fatalities, but at the heart of it is driver behavior—including speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and distracted driving, especially due to cellphone use. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has reported that 8,055 lives were lost in motor vehicle collisions during the first quarter of 2025.
While the cause and liability of the crash are being investigated, Candice Bond, an experienced accident attorney and Managing Partner of Bond Legal, said that it is imperative to have an independent investigation conducted by a seasoned attorney.
“In addition to the diligent work of law enforcement, an attorney can re-interview important witnesses, analyze any surveillance video from the scene of the crash, and obtain phone and texting records of the liable party,” said Bond, a national analyst for The Legal Advocate.
“Time is of the essence in cases such as this one, and the victim’s family must ensure that evidence is reviewed efficiently.”
WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM
Pending the investigation, the family of George Allen Tiglio may be entitled to a wrongful death claim. Family members of wrongful death victims can seek compensation for loss of companionship, emotional distress, pain and suffering, and other damages following a catastrophic accident.
“Losing a loved one is not only emotionally devastating but can also create serious financial challenges,” said Candice Bond, of counsel with Bond Legal. “Families affected by a fatal accident due to someone else’s negligence should consult a wrongful death attorney to ensure their rights are protected and to pursue the justice they deserve.”
“Insurance companies may attempt to offer low settlements or deny claims, taking advantage of a family’s lack of legal knowledge. An attorney can safeguard your rights and advocate for fair compensation,” Bond added.
