1 dead, 1 injured in Sunday night passenger vehicle vs. motorcycle accident
MONTEBELLO, CA, (August 11, 2024) - One person died and another was seriously injured Sunday night in a collision between a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle in Montebello.
Claudia Barrera-Rocha was fatally injured Sunday night in a vehicle vs. motorcycle collision on the Pomona Freeway in Montebello.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the incident happened on the eastbound side of the Pomona Freeway near the Garfield Avenue exit at approximately 8:27 p.m.
One person involved, 47-year-old Claudia Barrera-Rocha, tragically died at the site of the crash.
A second person was badly hurt and transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Additional details on the circumstances that led to the wreck were not immediately known.
CRASH INVESTIGATION
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 42,915 people lost their lives in motor vehicle crashes in the United States in 2021, an increase of over 10 percent from 2020.
