BAKERSFIELD, CA, (August 20, 2025) -
Christian Jesus Juarez, 28, of Arvin, was killed early Wednesday in a two-vehicle collision on East Bear Mountain Boulevard in Bakersfield, authorities said.
A crash on East Bear Mountain Boulevard claimed the life of an Arvin resident, authorities confirmed.
According to the CHP, a 76-year-old man driving a 2005 Toyota Sienna westbound east of Adobe Road crossed into the eastbound lanes, striking Juarez’s 2017 Toyota Corolla head-on. Juarez died from his injuries, while the Sienna driver sustained moderate injuries. Two passengers in the Corolla were hospitalized with serious injuries.
The incident is under active investigation.
CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED
Several factors are to blame for the surge in traffic fatalities, but at the heart of it is driver behavior—including speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and distracted driving, especially due to cellphone use. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has reported that 8,055 lives were lost in motor vehicle collisions during the first quarter of 2025.
While the cause and liability of the crash are being investigated, Candice Bond, an experienced accident attorney and Managing Partner of Bond Legal, said that it is imperative to have an independent investigation conducted by a seasoned attorney.
“In addition to the diligent work of law enforcement, an attorney can re-interview important witnesses, analyze any surveillance video from the scene of the crash, and obtain phone and texting records of the liable party,” said Bond, a national analyst for The Legal Advocate.
Time is of the essence in cases such as this, and the family of a victim must be ensured that evidence is reviewed in an efficient manner.
WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM
Pending the investigation, the family of Christian Jesus Juarez may be entitled to a wrongful death claim. Loved ones of wrongful death victims can seek damages for loss of companionship, emotional distress, and pain and suffering following a catastrophic accident.
“We understand that losing a loved one is not only a deeply emotional loss but can also create financial hardships,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal.
“If a loved one has been lost due to someone else’s negligence, it is crucial to consult a wrongful death attorney to receive guidance and pursue the justice you deserve.”
