4 hurt in Wednesday morning crash on Interstate 70
BOONE, MO, (September 11, 2024) - Four people were injured, one seriously, Wednesday morning in a chain-reaction collision involving six vehicles in Boone County.
Reshma Mantri was seriously injured Wednesday morning in a chain-reaction crash on Interstate 70 in Boone County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), a 2024 Hyundai Tuscon traveling eastbound along Interstate 70 failed to reduce its speed for stopped traffic and collided with the back of a 2010 Honda CRV and then a 2022 Chevrolet 4500 at approximately 9 a.m. After the initial impacts, the Honda careened into a 2001 Acura CL while the Chevrolet 4500 crashed into the back of a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado.
A passenger in the Hyundai, 22-year-old Reshma C. Mantri, of Kansas City, was badly hurt and taken to University Hospital for treatment.
Three additional people traveling in the Hyundai, including the driver, were also injured and transported to the same hospital.
CRASH INVESTIGATION
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, nearly 2.5 million people were injured in motor vehicle crashes in 2021.
“Road conditions, visibility, and lighting are all possible contributing factors that are considered and require thorough examination,” said Candice Bond, a Managing Partner with Bond Legal.
“An accident reconstruction team is sometimes needed to help piece together what happened. All of these resources are necessary for helping clients receive monetary compensation for damages or a loss following a collision,” said Bond, an experienced auto accident attorney.
PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM
Reshma Mantri may have the right to pursue a personal injury claim pending an investigation.
Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal, said, “Injured victims involved in a collision often seek a personal injury claim to cover the cost of medical bills, future medical care, loss of income, emotional trauma, and pain and suffering.”
"Insurance companies can be notoriously unconcerned with the mounting costs that an injured party may accrue. An attorney can help. We protect the victims of these tragedies daily, forcing the insurance companies to pay for their mistakes,” he added.
