Legal Insights

In cases such as this involving motor vehicle crashes, independent investigations play a crucial role in uncovering liability. Candice Bond, managing partner of Bond Legal and a national analyst for Newsline, emphasizes the need for thorough reviews.

“In addition to the diligent work of law enforcement, an attorney can re-interview important witnesses, analyze any surveillance video from the scene of the crash, and obtain phone and texting records of the liable party,” said Bond. “Time is of the essence in cases such as this one, and the victim’s family must ensure that evidence is reviewed efficiently.”

  • Re-interview witnesses to gather fresh perspectives.
  • Secure and analyze video footage promptly.
  • Retrieve digital records to establish fault.
  • Act quickly to preserve critical evidence.

Pending results, family members may pursue a wrongful death claim for damages including loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress. Stefano Formica, of counsel with Bond Legal, notes the dual emotional and economic toll.

“We understand that losing a loved one is not only a deeply emotional loss but also an economic one,” said Formica. “If you have lost a loved one due to someone else’s negligence, contact a wrongful death attorney and get the guidance needed to obtain the justice you deserve. Insurance companies may try to take advantage of your lack of knowledge of the law and offer a low settlement or deny your claim altogether. An attorney can protect your rights and ensure that you are not taken advantage of.”
