3-Year-Old Boy Killed in Saturday Artesia Boulevard Crash

LONG BEACH, CA, (September 06, 2025) - The North Long Beach community is mourning the death of 3-year-old Noah Hernandez Perez, who was struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday evening near Artesia Boulevard and Rose Avenue, just south of the Artesia (91) Freeway.

police lights car crashAuthorities report that a 3-year-old child was struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday evening in Long Beach.

According to the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office, Perez was hit while in the street by a westbound vehicle around 6:30 p.m. The young boy was transported to a nearby hospital but later died from his injuries.

Police confirmed that the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities are continuing their investigation and asked anyone with information to contact the Long Beach Police Department at 562-570-7355.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Often, drivers who are distracted and speeding try to pass vehicles stopped at a crosswalk and end up hitting the pedestrians. Those motorists should know the vehicles may have stopped to allow people on foot to cross the street. About 6,632 (86%) pedestrians were killed in pedestrian fatalities that occurred in single-vehicle crashes in 2022, and nearly 1 out of every 4 pedestrians killed (24%) in crashes were struck by hit-and-run drivers, the NHTSA said in a report, "Traffic Safety Facts."

“In most instances, pedestrians possess the right of way when crossing an intersection or a street regardless of if they are in a marked crosswalk,” said Candice Bond, an experienced pedestrian accident attorney.

Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal, noted that in cases such as this, it is imperative to have an independent probe conducted by a seasoned lawyer to help protect the rights of the victim.

“Having the proper resources is extremely important in order to investigate a pedestrian accident case and prove negligence,” Bond added.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the results of the investigation, the family of Noah Hernandez Perez may be entitled to a wrongful death claim for the loss of love and companionship. “The stress and sorrow can be overwhelming after losing a loved one in an accident,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal.

“We understand the hardships families face, and protecting their rights is crucial. A wrongful death attorney will stay informed on the investigation and help safeguard their legal interests.”

“Insurance companies may attempt to exploit a family’s lack of legal knowledge by offering a low settlement or denying a claim altogether. An attorney ensures that your rights are protected and that you are not taken advantage of.”
