Crash Reported Near Brookhurst Street and Edinger Avenue
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA, (September 05, 2025) - A Santa Ana man died Friday night and a passenger was critically injured following a single-vehicle crash in Fountain Valley.
Henry Garcia Correa died, and a passenger was critically injured in a crash near Brookhurst Street and Edinger Avenue in Santa Barbara County.
According to police, Henry Garcia Correa was driving just before 11 p.m. when his vehicle crashed near Brookhurst Street and Edinger Avenue. Correa died at the scene.
The 20-year-old male passenger, whose identity has not been released, was transported to a hospital in critical condition.
SINGLE-VEHICLE ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION
The exact cause of the collision remains under investigation.
Candice Bond, a well-respected attorney specializing in accidents, has said in cases such as this that it's imperative to conduct an independent probe as soon as possible to preserve evidence.
“In addition to a police report, an attorney will carefully review what may have contributed to the crash,” said Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal and a national analyst for The Legal Advocate. “Your lawyer has the resources to hire expert witnesses, conduct driver background checks, locate witnesses to the crash and review applicable insurance coverage. Serving as an advocate, an attorney can help compassionately guide victims during this difficult time, while protecting their legal rights.”
Authorities are investigating the crash and will try to determine what caused the crash. Single-vehicle accidents can be caused by several factors, including but not limited to impairment or drivers who are distracted, fatigued or traveling recklessly.
The National Transportation Safety Board reports that more than 19,000 people are hurt annually in crashes in the United States, but that most are preventable.
PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM
Pending the results of the investigation, the 20-year-old passenger may be entitled to a personal injury claim for medical and rehabilitation expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and emotional trauma.
“Passengers who are injured in a collision have several options for pursuing a personal injury lawsuit,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal. “The passenger may file a claim with the insurance company of the vehicle they were in if the driver is found liable. This does not affect their own insurance policy, as the claim is made against a policy that is not theirs.”
“When accidents result from unsafe, aggressive, or distracted driving, speeding, or driving under the influence, victims often have the right to pursue a civil action,” Bond added.
