Micah Pan killed in Eucalyptus Avenue hit-and-run in Chino
CHINO, CA, (September 20, 2025) - A 53-year-old bicyclist was fatally struck in a hit-and-run crash Friday in Chino, police said.
Authorities reported that 53-year-old Micah Pan was fatally hit by a driver who fled the scene Saturday evening in Chino.
The victim, Micah Pan of Chino Hills, was hit at about 6:35 p.m. in the 5200 block of Eucalyptus Avenue, south of Edison Avenue. He was transported to a hospital but sadly did not survive.
Police later arrested a 28-year-old woman from Chino on suspicion of hit-and-run with injury after she allegedly fled the crash scene.
Investigators are continuing to look into the incident and urge anyone with details to call 909-334-3116.
CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED
Even a minute's delay in medical attention after a serious crash can cost a life. Leaving the scene helps no one — not the victim, and not the driver. Nearly 65 percent of people killed in hit-and-run crashes were pedestrians or bicyclists, according to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety.
“Having the proper resources is extremely important to investigate a pedestrian accident case and prove negligence,” said Candice Bond, an experienced hit-and-run accident attorney and a Managing Partner of Bond Legal.
Added Bond, the national analyst for The Legal Advocate, “The driver always has to take great care behind the wheel.”
An attorney will carefully review what may have contributed to the crash and has the resources to hire expert witnesses, locate witnesses to the crash, and review applicable insurance coverage.
WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM
Pending the investigation, the family of Micah Pan may have grounds to pursue a wrongful death claim. Families of wrongful death victims can seek compensation for loss of companionship, emotional distress, pain and suffering, and other damages following such a tragic loss.
“The grief and hardship after losing a loved one in an accident can be overwhelming,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal.
“A wrongful death attorney can help ensure the family’s rights are protected, remain informed on the investigation, and work to secure the justice and compensation they deserve.”
