PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

Despite being protected by various laws, pedestrians continue to be the most vulnerable users of streets and roads in our country. Every day, pedestrians are seriously injured or killed by motorists who ignore warning signs, are distracted, or are impaired.

The Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) attributed the increase in deaths to dangerous driving, like speeding, drunk and drugged driving, and distraction, as well as infrastructure issues that prioritize motor vehicles over pedestrians. While it is almost always a driver’s duty to yield to any pedestrian, they still face everyday dangers in this country.

No state has more pedestrian deaths on its roadways than California. According to the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA), an estimated 7,148 pedestrians died on U.S. roadways in 2024, with 928 occurring in the state of California.

“Having the proper resources is extremely important to investigate a pedestrian accident case and prove negligence,” said Candice Bond, an experienced pedestrian accident attorney.

“Road conditions, visibility, and lighting are all possible contributing factors considered and examined,” added Bond, a Managing Partner with Bond Legal.

“An accident reconstruction team is sometimes needed to help piece together what happened. All of these resources are necessary for helping clients receive monetary compensation for damages or a loss following a pedestrian accident,” said Bond, a national legal analyst with The Legal Advocate.

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

“It is almost always a driver’s duty to yield to any pedestrian,” said Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal. “The family of Kristle White may have grounds to pursue a wrongful death claim.”

“Family members of wrongful death victims may seek damages for loss of income and companionship, pain and suffering, funeral costs, and emotional distress following a tragic accident,” Bond added.

An attorney can serve as a compassionate advocate, guiding the family through the legal process while ensuring their rights are protected.

“Insurance companies often try to push for quick settlements that are far below what victims’ families truly deserve,” Bond said. “An experienced attorney will work diligently to ensure that the family is treated with respect and receives full and fair compensation.”
