Rancho Cucamonga Hit-and-Run Accident August 7th; Teen Girl Seriously Injured in Pedestrian CrashA 16-year-old girl was critically injured Thursday in a hit-and-run accident in Rancho Cucamonga. Alfredo Garcia Venegas has been charged in connection with the crash.

The victim, a student at Inland Empire High School, was biking to school around 7:30 a.m. near Cherry Avenue and Walnut Street by Etiwanda High School when she was struck by a Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by 29-year-old Alfredo Garcia Venegas.

Fontana Police said Venegas fled the scene but was later caught and arrested. The girl was transported to a local hospital and remains in critical condition.

HIT-AND-RUN CRASH INVESTIGATION

Motorists involved in an accident are required to remain at the scene until authorities arrive, and failing to do so is a crime.

However, statistics indicate that more than one hit-and-run crash occurs every minute on U.S. roads. Many suspects flee the scene because they are intoxicated, driving without a license, or are concerned about being arrested if they remain at the scene. Each year, approximately 19,000 people are injured in California in hit-and-run accidents.

Candice Bond, an experienced hit-and-run accident attorney, said in cases such as this it is imperative to have an independent investigation conducted by a seasoned attorney promptly to protect a victim’s rights.

“Having the proper resources is extremely important to investigate a hit-and-run accident case and prove negligence,” said Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal. “Road conditions, signage visibility, and road lighting are all possible contributing factors that are considered and must be thoroughly examined. These procedures are necessary for helping someone who has been injured at the hands of a hit-and-run driver receive the justice and monetary compensation that they deserve.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

The victim injured in this accident may have the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit. Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal, emphasized that the emotional and financial stress following a serious injury can be overwhelming, affecting all areas of life including family, work, and overall well-being.

“While no amount of money can fully heal the pain caused by a severe injury, it’s crucial that victims understand their legal rights and the compensation they may be entitled to,” Bond said. “Injured individuals may seek damages for medical expenses, future treatment, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.”
