VERMONT VISTA, CA, (July 05, 2025) - A woman is accused of fleeing after a two-vehicle crash that killed 25-year-old Emerson Noel Escobar Gonzalez Saturday night in the Vermont Vista area of Los Angeles, authorities report.
Emerson Noel Escobar Gonzalez, 25, tragically lost his life in a two-vehicle collision in the Vermont Vista neighborhood on Saturday night, according to an official news release.
The collision occurred around 9:20 p.m. at Figueroa Street and 91st Street. Preliminary investigation shows a woman believed to be in her 30s was driving a Porsche Panamera southbound on Figueroa Street when she struck Gonzalez’s vehicle, which was traveling eastbound on 91st Street. Gonzalez died at the scene from his injuries, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The Porsche driver fled on foot and remains at large. Authorities urge anyone with information to call 213-458-3472.
The investigation is ongoing.
CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED
California law clearly states that fleeing the scene of a crash is a crime. Despite this, many drivers choose to leave, putting victims’ lives at risk. Since 2006, an average of 682,000 hit-and-run crashes have occurred annually, according to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety.
While authorities continue to investigate the cause and liability of the Vermont Vista crash, Candice Bond, Managing Partner of Bond Legal and experienced accident attorney, stressed the importance of an independent legal probe.
“In addition to the diligent work of law enforcement, an attorney can re-interview important witnesses, analyze any surveillance video from the scene of the crash, and obtain phone and texting records of the liable party,” Bond said. “Time is of the essence in cases such as this one, and the victim’s family must ensure that evidence is reviewed efficiently.”
WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM
Pending the ongoing investigation, the family members of Emerson Noel Escobar Gonzalez may be entitled to pursue a wrongful death claim. Such claims can seek damages for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress following a catastrophic accident.
“We understand that losing a loved one is not only a deeply emotional loss but also an economic one,” said Candice Bond, of counsel with Bond Legal.
“If you have lost a loved one due to someone else’s negligence, contact a wrongful death attorney and get the guidance needed to obtain the justice you deserve,” Bond added.
