MARYSVILLE, CA, (June 14, 2025) - A devastating head-on crash in Marysville claimed the lives of three individuals and left three others, including a young child, seriously injured. Authorities from the Yuba County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office confirmed that one of the deceased was 22-year-old Clint Waddell from Sacramento.

The fatal incident unfolded Saturday afternoon around 2:45 p.m. on Highway 70 near 24th Street. Preliminary details reveal that two Oroville residents were also among those killed.

According to officials, five people were traveling in one vehicle, while the other car carried only its driver.

Emergency crews responded swiftly, with one critically injured victim transported by air ambulance to a nearby medical facility. Marysville police indicated that excessive speed may have contributed to the tragic event, though the full cause remains under investigation.

CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Due to the high-impact nature and force distribution typical of frontal collisions, occupants are at substantial risk of serious harm. Investigators often consider contributing factors such as distracted driving, reckless speed, or unsafe passing maneuvers in such crashes

Legal professionals emphasize the importance of a thorough and independent review in cases of fatal accidents. Attorney Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal, explained that timely investigation can be critical for grieving families seeking clarity and justice.

"Preserving key evidence and determining what led to the incident can make all the difference," Bond stated. "Expert reconstruction teams are often essential in understanding the full picture."

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

While the official inquiry is ongoing, the loved ones of Clint Waddell may have grounds to pursue a wrongful death case. This legal route can provide compensation for emotional suffering, the loss of companionship, and other damages following a tragic loss.

"Families often face both emotional trauma and legal confusion after tragedies like this," said a representative from Bond Legal. "Having a committed attorney can help safeguard their rights and provide critical support through the process."
