Vehicle Strikes Pole, Sparks Fire; Two Injured

A vehicle crashed into a utility pole at the intersection of Jefferson Street and Hempstead Turnpike, causing a fully engulfed car fire. Emergency crews arrived to discover the pole knocked down and two people receiving treatment for injuries. The crash happened on Jan. 7 around 9:13 p.m. Firefighters battled the flames to put out the fire, while the area was cordoned off for a probe into the cause.
