Emergency crews responded to a serious multi-vehicle collision early Saturday morning, where two individuals were trapped in their vehicles. Firefighters from the Newark Fire Department arrived at the intersection of McCarter Highway and Poinier Street to find multiple cars involved in the accident. Rescue teams deployed the jaws of life to extricate the entrapped victims. Emergency medical services were on site to evaluate and treat those injured.
