4 Children Injured in Wednesday Night Crash Involving Suspected Impaired Driver at Skeet Club and Braddock Roads

July 02, 2025 | High Point, NC

A hit-and-run crash involving a suspected impaired driver left two children critically injured and three others seriously hurt Wednesday night in High Point. According to the High Point Police Department, the crash happened around 9 p.m. at the intersection of Skeet Club Road and Braddock Road. A driver struck another vehicle and fled the scene. Inside the second vehicle were four children and one adult. A 6-year-old child required CPR at the scene and was taken to the hospital in critical condition. A 9-year-old also suffered critical injuries. Two other children, ages 10 and 12, and the adult driver were seriously injured and also hospitalized.

Hit and Run Tristan Wiles faces multiple charges after allegedly fleeing the scene of a two-vehicle crash in High Point that injured five people, including four children.

Shortly after the crash, officers located the suspect vehicle on Barrow Road and arrested 34-year-old Tristan L. Wiles of Colfax, who was found walking nearby. Wiles has been charged with felony hit-and-run, felony hit-and-run with serious injury, driving while impaired, possession of drug paraphernalia, and other traffic-related offenses. Authorities say additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.

HIT-AND-RUN INVESTIGATION NEEDED

Leaving the scene of an accident is a criminal offense, yet it remains a frequent occurrence. According to national data, roughly 11 percent of all traffic crashes involve a hit-and-run driver. Many suspects flee because they are intoxicated, unlicensed, or fear legal consequences if they remain at the scene.

In most hit-and-run incidents, at-fault drivers hope to escape accountability by running. However, as in the recent High Point crash, suspects are often located and charged shortly after fleeing.

Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal and an experienced hit-and-run accident attorney, emphasized the importance of a swift and independent investigation following such incidents.

“Having the proper resources is extremely important to investigate a hit-and-run accident case and prove negligence,” Bond said. “Road conditions, signage visibility, and road lighting are all possible contributing factors that must be fully examined.”

Bond added that these investigative steps are essential in helping injured victims pursue justice and fair compensation. “Victims of hit-and-run drivers deserve accountability,” she said, “and an attorney plays a key role in ensuring their rights are protected.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Pending the outcome of the investigation, the victims injured in Wednesday night’s hit-and-run crash in High Point may have the right to pursue personal injury claims. These claims can help cover the costs of medical treatment, long-term care, lost wages, emotional distress, and other damages resulting from the crash.

“Injured victims involved in a collision often seek a personal injury claim to cover the cost of medical bills, future medical care, loss of income, emotional trauma, and pain and suffering,” said Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal.

“Insurance companies can be notoriously unconcerned with the mounting costs that an injured party may accrue,” he added. “An attorney can help. We protect the victims of these tragedies daily, forcing the insurance companies to pay for their mistakes.”
