Firefighters waged a fierce battle against heavy flames bursting from the back of a residence at 111 Leslie Road in Middle Hope, New York, while dense smoke permeated every part of the structure. The blaze intensified to third-alarm level, resulting in a request for the second battalion chief on site along with an additional FAST team to provide support. The call came in on Jan. 3 at 1:47 p.m.
