Two individuals lost their lives, and two others suffered injuries in a severe collision near the U.S. 71 exit ramp at Meyer Boulevard in Kansas City, Missouri, on a Monday afternoon.

Authorities reported the incident unfolded around 12:40 p.m., when a silver Subaru Forester and a silver Ford Escape were halted at a red light on the northbound U.S. 71 exit ramp leading to Meyer Boulevard. A black Ford F-150, speeding northbound on the same ramp, sideswiped the Escape before slamming into the rear of the Subaru. The force propelled the Subaru across the eastbound lanes of Meyer Boulevard, through the center median, and over a concrete wall, where it overturned and settled in the westbound lanes. A gray GMC Sierra was also struck by the F-150 in the chaos.

Among the fatalities was Teri Glass, a 54-year-old passenger in the Subaru. The Subaru's driver also perished from injuries sustained in the wreck.

The F-150 driver endured life-threatening wounds and was rushed to a hospital, as was the Escape's driver for medical evaluation. Kansas City police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
