Tuesday night pickup truck vs. golf cart crash was on West Lake Drive

LAKE CLARKE SHORES, FL, (December 24, 2024) - A family of four was hospitalized with various injuries after the golf cart they were riding in was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Lake Clarke Shores.

Hit-and-RunFour members of the Quattrocchi family sustained serious injuries Tuesday night when a hit-and-run driver struck the golf cart they were riding in along West Lake Drive in Lake Clarke Shores.

According to the Lake Clarke Shores Police Department, Steve Quattrocchi was driving a golf cart with his wife, Nicole, and two children, Sabrina and Stevie, when a pickup truck struck them in the 7000 block of West Lake Drive at approximately 8 p.m.

All four family members were hospitalized for treatment, including Steve for a broken back and ribs, Nicole for a brain bleed, Stevie for a broken leg, and Sabrina for road rash.

The driver of the pickup fled the scene and remains unidentified.

A GoFundMe page was created to assist the family.

HIT-AND-RUN ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION

Leaving the scene of an accident is a crime, but sadly statistics indicate that approximately 11 percent of all crashes involve a hit-and-run driver.

In most cases involving hit-and-runs, the at-fault drivers feel they can avoid the consequences of their actions if they leave the scene. However, a suspect will be charged when apprehended.

Candice Bond, an experienced hit-and-run accident attorney, said in such cases is imperative to have an independent investigation conducted by a seasoned attorney promptly to protect the rights of a victim.

“Having the proper resources is extremely important to investigate a hit-and-run accident case and prove negligence,” said Bond, a Managing Partner of Bond Legal. “Road conditions, signage visibility, and road lighting are all possible contributing factors that must be fully considered. These procedures are necessary for helping someone who has been injured by a hit-and-run driver receive the justice and monetary compensation that they deserve.”

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM

Steve and Nicole Quattrocchi and their family may be entitled to an injury claim, and they may seek recovery for damages, including medical expenses, future medical care, pain and suffering, and emotional trauma.

“A major injury means that there will be a lot of challenges ahead. Attorneys know how to handle all the legal aspects of a case so a person could focus on healing and moving forward,” Bond, who is also a national legal analyst for Newsline, said.

Bond added, “It doesn’t matter how large an insurance company a victim of a major crash is fighting; an attorney with experience and resources will ensure that the victim's right are protected and injuries are properly compensated.”
