Firefighters responded to a first alarm at a wood-frame apartment building where smoke was visible from one side of the structure. The incident occurred at 748 Don Quixote Ave., E11, with crews stretching 200 feet of 1 3/4-inch hose. The call came in at 6:41 a.m. on Jan. 9.
