Firefighters are actively working to extinguish a blaze at a single-story single-family home in Petersburg, where heavy smoke and flames were evident when crews arrived on scene.

Engine-4 on Scene w/ smoke & Flames showing from a 1 Story single family home. Command advise 1 line in operation w/ water on the fire. Primary search (-). Ventilation is in Progress.

Engine 4 was dispatched to 2229 Bishop St., where command reported one hose line deployed and water applied directly to the fire. A primary search of the interior yielded negative results for occupants, and ventilation operations are now in progress to clear the structure.
