A serious motor vehicle accident involving an ejection took place on the south service road of the Long Island Expressway west of Commack Road in Dix Hills. One person remains unaccounted for in the nearby woods, prompting requests for K9 units and aviation support to aid in the search. First responders arrived at the scene early Jan. 7 to manage the situation and assist with recovery efforts.
