FM 730 Collision Kills Two, Injures Three

A multi-vehicle crash on FM 730 on September 23 resulted in two fatalities and three injuries. The Azle Police Department reported that the collision occurred around 12:19 p.m. when a northbound vehicle crossed the median and struck a southbound vehicle driven by 67-year-old Robert Edwin Anness. The head-on impact killed Anness and a 73-year-old woman who was a passenger in the other vehicle.
The crash subsequently involved two other vehicles. Two people were hospitalized with serious injuries, and a fifth person was evaluated and treated at the scene. Following the incident, FM 730 S was closed in both directions between Creekwood Ranch Road and Main Street. Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash but do not suspect drugs or alcohol were a contributing factor.

HEAD-ON CRASH INVESTIGATION
