Crash along Industrial Boulevard claims life of San Diego resident, authorities say
CHULA VISTA, CA, (December 23, 2024) - The victim of Monday evening's auto-pedestrian collision in Chula Vista has been identified by the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office as Randall Toru Shimizu.
Randall Toru Shimizu, a 63-year-old San Diego local, was struck and killed by a vehicle along Industrial Boulevard in Chula Vista Monday evening, the medical examiner's office said in a report.
Shimizu was fatally struck by a Toyota sedan in the 1000 Block of Industrial Boulevard.
According to preliminary findings, the Toyota was traveling northbound on Industrial Blvd. around 6:13 p.m. when it slammed into 63-year-old San Diego resident Shimizu, who was walking across the street in the same area. Tragically, Shimizu died at the scene from injuries.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
