FATAL PEDESTRIAN CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED

The crash remains under investigation, and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol will work to determine what caused the vehicle's driver to strike and kill Paul Snyder.

Many pedestrian accidents stem from driver negligence or inattention. Tragically, even when pedestrians follow all traffic laws and safety recommendations, they remain vulnerable to serious or fatal incidents.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), pedestrian fatalities increased by more than 3% in 2018, with 6,283 deaths recorded—the highest number since 1990. On average, a pedestrian is killed in a motor vehicle crash every 120 minutes, and one is injured every 8 minutes.

Candice Bond, an experienced pedestrian accident attorney and Managing Partner at Bond Legal, emphasized the importance of an independent investigation in cases like this to preserve critical evidence.

"Having the proper resources is extremely important in order to investigate a pedestrian accident case and prove negligence," Bond said. "Road conditions, signage visibility, and road lighting are all possible contributing factors that are considered and must thoroughly be examined. These procedures are necessary for helping those who have lost a loved one receive the justice that they deserve."

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Pending the results of the investigation, the family of Paul Snyder may be entitled to a wrongful death claim. Family members of wrongful death victims can seek compensation for loss of companionship, pain and suffering, emotional distress, and other damages following a tragic incident like this.

"In most instances, pedestrians possess the right of way when crossing an intersection or a street, regardless of whether they are in a marked crosswalk. It is always a driver's duty to yield to any pedestrian," said Candice Bond, Managing Partner at Bond Legal.

"We understand what victims’ families must go through, and knowing your rights and protecting them is vital. As experienced wrongful death attorneys, we handle the legal work for you, provide updates on any ongoing investigation, and proactively safeguard your rights and best interests," Bond continued.

"An attorney can protect victims from large insurance companies and their legal teams, while diligently investigating the facts of the accident. We will vigorously advocate for a grieving family to ensure their legal rights are fully protected," she added.
