A major multi-vehicle accident involving more than 20 vehicles occurred on Interstate 81 southbound near New York Route 20, resulting in multiple casualties. Emergency responders reported one vehicle engulfed in flames and several individuals trapped inside their vehicles. Multiple rescue personnel and heavy rescue units were dispatched to the scene, along with eight advanced life support units. Assistance from the New York Emergency Management Office was also requested.
