A minor stove fire broke out in an apartment in Queens on Jan. 1, but firefighters swiftly brought it under control with no injuries reported. The incident occurred at 3:54 p.m. in Apartment 2A at 116-80 Guy R. Brewer Blvd. Firefighters from Battalion 54 responded promptly, extinguishing the flames from the stove. Crews also checked for any fire spread and vented the area to ensure safety. The situation was stabilized shortly after their arrival.
