A minor kitchen fire was reported at a two-story wood frame home on South Street in New Britain and was quickly knocked down by emergency responders. Crews arrived at 646 South St. on Jan. 5 at approximately 9:33 p.m. to handle the incident. The blaze was contained, and firefighters are checking for any extension. The fire marshal has been requested to investigate the cause.
