Legal Insights

In cases such as this involving motor vehicle crashes, independent investigations play a crucial role in determining liability and supporting affected parties.

“In addition to the diligent work of law enforcement, an attorney can re-interview important witnesses, analyze any surveillance video from the scene of the crash, and obtain phone and texting records of the liable party,” said Candice Bond, national analyst for Newsline and managing partner of Bond Legal. “Serving as an advocate, an attorney can help compassionately guide an injured victim during this difficult time while vigorously protecting their legal rights and best interests. An accident reconstruction team is sometimes needed to help piece together what happened. All of these resources are necessary for helping clients receive monetary compensation for damages or a loss following a collision.”

Key takeaways from legal analysis:

  • Hire an experienced attorney to conduct thorough investigations beyond initial police reports.
  • Secure evidence like witness statements and digital records to build a strong case.
  • Use specialized teams for accident reconstruction to clarify collision dynamics.
  • Protect rights against insurance pressures for low settlements.

Pending investigation outcomes, individuals like those injured may pursue personal injury claims to address impacts on health, finances, and daily life.

“It is vital for victims to hire an attorney when filing a personal injury claim, which allows them to negotiate with an insurance company on behalf of a client,” noted Stefano Formica, of counsel with Bond Legal and contributor to Newsline. “Insurance companies often try to pressure victims to settle for a quick payout for far less than the case is worth. However, an attorney will vigorously advocate for their client to ensure that they are treated with respect and compensated fairly.”
