Troopers responded after a 2007 Jeep Commander left the roadway near the intersection of Dale County Road 1 and Alabama 92. The vehicle struck a utility pole between Clayhatchee and Enterprise around 10:30 p.m.

The passenger, identified as 66-year-old Linda White of Geneva, was pronounced dead at an area hospital. The driver sustained injuries and was transported to Enterprise Medical Center. He was later arrested and charged with reckless murder. He remains booked in the Dale County Jail.
