Why Do These Accidents Happen?

Factors such as road conditions, visibility, and entry maneuvers from private drives can contribute to such collisions. In rural highways like Old U.S. 36, traffic patterns and unexpected merges often lead to severe outcomes, including rollovers.

The National Center for Statistics and Analysis (NCSA) reports that rollover crashes represent about 30 percent of passenger vehicle occupant fatalities each year. Meanwhile, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) documented 40,901 traffic-related deaths nationwide in 2023, including 991 in Missouri.

National legal analysts emphasize the importance of thorough investigations in motor vehicle crashes to determine liability and support affected families.

“Road conditions, visibility, and lighting are all possible contributing factors considered and examined,” said Candice Bond, managing partner with Bond Legal. “It is imperative to come to a determination of the exact cause of these types of accidents. In cases such as this, resources like reviewing insurance coverage, hiring witnesses, and locating witnesses are crucial to guide families through the process.”

  • Key Takeaway: Accident reconstruction teams help piece together the crash, aiding in securing compensation for damages or loss.
  • Investigation Role: Background checks and witness statements strengthen claims in collisions involving multiple vehicles.

“The stress and sorrow can be extremely overwhelming after losing a loved one in an accident,” said Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal. “We understand just what families must go through, and having their rights protected is vital. Pending the investigation, families may pursue a wrongful death claim for damages like loss of companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional distress.”

  • Claim Process: Attorneys monitor official investigations and examine accident facts to build strong cases.
