Early Sunday morning collision happened along South Freeway

A fatal crash early Sunday in Fort Worth resulted in one death and the arrest of a driver, according to officials with the Fort Worth Police Department. Police officers responded to the 100 block of South Freeway where they discovered that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian.
The victim was transported to a hospital and later pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle, identified as 20-year-old Jose Aviles, was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle.
Jose Aviles was arrested in connection with a fatal pedestrian crash early Sunday along South Freeway in Fort Worth.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased once the family has been notified.
The incident remains under investigation by Fort Worth Police.
