An injured hiker sparked a rescue effort on the Wapack Trail near North Pack Monadnock on Jan. 4. Emergency crews rushed to the parking lot at 379 Mountain Road in Greenfield after receiving injury reports. On-site responders found the hiker farther along the trail and called for mutual aid to bring in extra personnel. The emergency unfolded around 12:49 p.m.
