Firefighters tackled a blaze on the first floor of a 1.5-story private dwelling at 63 Brighton 1st Lane in Brooklyn early Jan. 1. The incident was called in as a 10-75 alarm for a working fire, under Box 3605 and Battalion 43. Teams pulled two lines, operating one, as searches continued to ensure the building was empty. Ladder 153 served as the rapid response unit.

Control was achieved soon after crews arrived, at about 9:16 a.m. There were no initial injury reports, and the fire's origin is being examined.
